Media Release: Minfos integrates with My Health Record

Minfos is pleased to announce its integration with My Health Record. This new functionality is now available to all Minfos pharmacies who have registered with the Australian Digital Health Agency.


The My Health Record system is a Federal Government initiative managed by the Agency. Minfos has worked closely with the Agency to implement the integration, which will enable pharmacists using Minfos software to access and contribute to a centralised electronic summary of a patient’s health record.

“The Minfos and My Health Record integration helps deliver a higher standard of health outcomes by reducing the time pharmacists spend chasing clinical information, allowing them to spend more time with their patients,” said Andrew Hall, EBOS Group General Manager – Pharmacy Technology.


This integration enables pharmacists to:

  • Upload scripts to a patient’s record in the My Health Record system as they are being dispensed
  • Access important information when needed, including medical history, medications prescribed, discharge summaries, allergies, adverse reactions and immunisations
  • Help patients with chronic and complex conditions to better manage their health


Ultimately, this integration supports the delivery of better health outcomes by providing pharmacists access to more complete and accurate patient information at the time it is needed most.


Agency CEO Tim Kelsey said the announcement represents an important milestone to promote the safer use of medicine – and reduce the estimated 230,000 hospital admissions each year due to medication errors[1].


“I congratulate Minfos for introducing this important capability. Pharmacists using these clinical systems will enjoy greater access to medical information about their customers and will seamlessly contribute important information on dispensed medicines in their customers’ My Health Records,” Mr Kelsey said.


Minfos continues to innovate its software platform to provide a more complete POS/dispense solution for Australian community pharmacies. This latest integration helps to enable Minfos pharmacies to realise greater efficiencies in their day-to-day operations.
